Thursday evening was spent partly at the Sharjah Ramadan Eid fair at the Expo Centre and at Al Qasba. I went with least expectations to the fair and came back with a wide grin and a shopping bag full of some interesting buys. Local handicrafts as well as wares from several countries were on display. I was most enchanted with the handmade trinkets from Thailand. From that one stall I bought a read handpainted little umbrella, a pair of bright red earrings and a blue baby elephant in a keychain. The other find was an Omani dagger with silver work and a pretty hair accessory. The little umbrella now rests on top of my blue vase in the living room.
The dagger shines bright from here.
