By Arabic Calligraphy on a Bestune Car
In a unique alliance of art and automobiles, the Bestune car brand in UAE, unveiled Arabic calligraphy on one of its flagship SUVs. The launch also coincided with the 70th anniversary of its brand FAW (First Automotive Works), one of China’s oldest and largest state-owned automotive manufacturers.
The car, a T 99, was creatively transformed by Dubai-based artist Rubab Zahra, with verses that read ‘Start a New Journey’ and ‘Drive your Senses’. A bright graphic wall mural was also painted live at the event by artist Snehita in collaboration with Magzoid magazine at the Al Khalid Auto’s Bestune showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai.
“This is a true milestone for Bestune and FAW as it marks seventy years of manufacturing excellence. I am thrilled that we have been able to express our history of design through the world of art,” said Andrew Squires, CEO of Al Khalid Auto, the official distributor of Bestune in the UAE. From becoming the first to mass produce vehicles in China, to producing over four million high-end cars, trucks and buses annually, FAW is one of the world’s largest vehicle manufacturers and is listed as a Fortune 500 company.
