The private collection of Sheikha Latifa bint Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, founder of Tashkeel and a well-known art collector, curator and artist, are on display for the first time at Alserkal Avenue. Through the upcoming Quoz Arts Fest (from Jan 27th-28th, 2024), visitors will be able to get a glimpse of the selected pieces at FN Designs.
The artworks, some of Sheikha Lateefa’s best-loved pieces, include art by celebrated Emirati artists, Abdul Qadir Al Rais and Dr Najat Makki, along with UAE based calligraphers, Majid Alyousef and Wissam Shawkat.
An ode to the unusual language of art, the private collection brings together regional and international masterpieces. On display, are the works of Monir Farmanfarmaian, Damien Hirst’s silkscreen Diligam Te Domine, Korean artist Yong Rae Kwon’s stainless steel elements on canvas, Manal AlDowayan’s Mother photograph from her I Am series, Tashkeel’s own mentored artists — Ruben Sanchez and Alonsa Guevara.
