ArtsCrafts presents Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam

Over 150 artists from 28 countries brought alive the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (One Earth, One Family, One Future, One Culture) at the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi, in a two-day cultural extravaganza held on October 7th and 8th, 2023. The event depicting the unity of humanity was inaugurated by Mrs. Vandana Sudhir, the wife of the Ambassador of India, HE Sanjay Sudhir.

An enriching experience for art enthusiasts and cultural connoisseurs alike, the event showcased a unique art exhibition featuring the work of 40 artists, along with several cultural programmes, dances, painting demonstrations and Rangoli competitions. The highlight of the event was a live painting session on a 15-metre-long canvas, where artists from various nationalities participated in expressing their creativity on the theme of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

A thought-provoking panel talk titled Brush Strokes of Life: Navigating the Highs and Lows of an Artistic Journey, proved to be an insightful and interactive experience for the audience as the panelists shared their views on several issues that are significant in the life of an artist. The panel talk was moderated by Shereen Abraham and included renowned Indian actor and artist Kanu Patel, sculptor Sunita Shankar, artist and chairperson of DIAC (Dubai International Art Centre) Diyali Sen Bhalla, journalist Tessy Koshy, folk art patron Vidisha Pandey and danseuse Ruby Mathur.

Two engaging workshops were held on the second day of the event at the Embassy’s auditorium including one on numerology and a stage performance by Kanu Patel called Soul of Art. The event attracted over a thousand visitors and was organized by ArtsCrafts founded by Anil Kejriwal in partnership with Dubai International Art Centre.
