Lawn suits

I had often heard about Pakistani lawn suits– about the soft feel of the lawn cloth especially in the summer and the range of designs they come in. So, there I went a few days back for my first lawn suit shopping to the old Sharjah Cinema area. And like I had heard I was […]

Lebanese food

Enjoyed a lip-smacking meal at Times of Arabia restaurant, Souk Madinat Jumeirah. Our choices included meat Kibbeh, mutton sausages in a tangy sauce, fresh hummos, breads and a garden salad. The service was prompt, the view was great and the pleasant weather made it all memorable.

Pink Flamingoes

We took an excited three-year old to the Al Ain Zoo, spotted among others an Ostrich, white lions, cheetahs and baby turtles. But I was most fascinated with the pink flamingoes. They walked tall with grace and beauty in a small patch of marshy land. The pink and the white of their feathers made a […]

Here there are no carts laden with food jostling for your attention nor hungry foodies munching goodies on the streets. So, imagine my joy when we landed […]

Meeting Ruskin Bond

This Bond did not step out of a convertible dressed in a dapper suit and a pistol in hand. Instead he has a pot belly, a happy gait and looks more like a clean shaven Santa Claus in casuals. The name is Ruskin Bond. And I was one among many who got a chance to […]
