HRH King Charles III: Coronation painting by Sacha Jafri

Dubai based British artist Sacha Jafri’s latest canvas celebrates the coronation of HRH King Charles III. Commissioned by Simon Penny of the British Embassy in Dubai, this historic painting will be gifted to Dubai’s ruling family.
“As a British artist who has lived in Dubai for over 10 years now, with a long-standing personal relationship with both Charles and William, as well as with members with Dubai’s royal family, it is a particular privilege for me to be able to unite two of my favourite countries in the world (the UK and the UAE) with this historic and hope-filled painting that stands for the unification of not only the two countries but also of the whole of humanity,” says Jafri.
In a career spanning 25 years, Jafri holds the Guinness World Record for the largest art Canvas in the world, is a globally acclaimed artist whose work has been exhibited across leading museums and art institutions of the world.

The predominantly pink-toned artwork, strewn with hearts, captures the King’s reign showcasing his sense of duty and future vision, meshed with layers of figurative insights into his faith, vulnerability, dedication to conservation and change. Depicted at the bottom centre the King is surrounded by a reflective pool of blue, according to the artist, illuminating both isolation and connection, surrounded by symbols of duty, respect and desire for conservation, a vision for inclusive, sustainable and more hopeful future. Additional miniature portraits within the piece of other royal family members include that of the late monarch Queen Elizabeth II, HRH William and Catherine, Prince and Princess of Wales, Queen Camelia, the Queen Consort, Princess Anne and other family members.
